First May Post

I didn't make it. Write a post in April, I mean. But there was not much stitching going on during the last month, so there wasn't much to write about.

I want to start this post with something that makes me sigh with frustration from time to time. Every now and then I get comments that contain questions about the designs I'm stitching or stitched. And when I want to answer the question I sometimes see that it's a no-reply comment and that the email of the commenter is blocked. Then I try to get to the commenter's blog in order to comment on their blog and leave my answer there - but I can't find a blog link either. I'm so sorry when this happens because I want to spread the word about all the designers whose designs make me so happy.

The latest question was about one of the designs in this post. I usually add all the designers' names when I show you my stitching but in that post I didn't do it. That's why I edited the post and added all the designers' names.

Now on to my little stitching. During March and April I started the rest of my personal Crazy Challenge pieces for this year. And as I wanted to start only half of the usual 15 pieces, I stopped at #7. In my previous post I already showed #1 and #2, so here we go with

#3 - It's Abigail Gould by The Scarlett Letter, which I even started stitching back in February. This will be the first that I will finish because I want to start my second Scarlett Letter piece in August.

#4 - is one of the older designs, Moonlight Stroll by The Yankee Stitcher. I had never heard of this designer before until I won this pretty little chart in one of Melissa's giveaways.

#5 - is a small kit that I have had for years. It's Coeur Volage by Isabelle Vautier and I once bought it on a needlecraft show in France. As my heart is always with the birds I thought I should finally start it.

#6 - Over the River & Through the Wood is by The Sampler Girl and I ordered this e-pattern some years ago. I love e-patterns because they get into my mailbox without causing any troubles with customs.

#7 - is the Mystery SAL by By the Bay Needlearts. I don't know if this freebie has got a name but I saw it on many of your blogs last year. I couldn't start it last year because I didn't have the WDW thread for the coloured leaves. But now I read on a blog that the stitcher there had replaced it by a variegated DMC thread. I was digging through my DMCs and there it was. So I finally could start this lovely design. I can't remember on whose blog I saw it but thank you, unknown stitcher, for the tip! EDIT: The "unknown" stitcher is Ellen. Thank you, Ellen!

I love my choices - there are spring, autumn and winter pieces, kits, charts, e-patterns and freebies, old ones and new ones and many different designers. It will be a lot of fun to finish them all, one by one, and then - hopefully - turn them into something.

Last month I received two wonderful stitched gifts from two stitching friends that I have known for years now. My husband took a couple of pictures in the garden this morning although the weather is not good, it's rainy and gray, but the pictures are so nice inspite of the weather.

This is a little ornament from friend Margaret and it's a Prairie Schooler piece. Isn't it a little beauty?

And this is from friend Angela, who finished it into a wonderful flatfold. Look at this assembly of different shades of blue, they look so beautiful together.
Thank you, dear friends, for these great gifts. They warmed my heart.

There are no more news or pictures to share, so Have a great time, you all!

Happy Stitching!
