The Alphabet Club "X" + "Y" + "Z"

Hello, dear stitching and blogging friends,

this is the last installment of the Alphabet Club. These three letters were the most difficult ones for me. And I can't even show you new houses from my little stitched village because I haven't added any since June. And no cakes nor designers for X and Y. I know that there are some but nothing by them in my stash. So, here we go for the last time.

*****************************

X - no German cake starting with this letter :(

X = Xchanges

Hahaha, I had to use the shoehorn for this entry.
Like many other stitchers I have participated in many exchanges over the years. And it was always a lot of fun. Here are some exchange pieces that I received.

But then my customs office started to retain all the little packages that I received from overseas exchange partners, I don't know why. And I had to drive there and collect them. The reason was that they wanted to see what was in the packages in order to know if I had to pay taxes for the content or not. Of course I didn't have to as the exchanges were about handmade items. But after a while I was tired of driving there each time and decided to stop doing exchanges :(

X - no designers starting with this letter in my stash.

****************************

Y - no German cake starting with this letter either :(

Y = Yuku boards

Do you still know them? This is like looking back into a far-away past but it is not that long ago that these message boards were very popular. I think that they still exist but most stitchers might have changed over to other platforms. Are you still a member of one of these boards? And is there still traffic?

Y - no designers starting with this letter in my stash.

******************************

Z = Zwetschgendatschi

At least for the last letter of the alphabet there is a German cake, and a very delicious one. Maybe you have a little problem when trying to pronounce the name of this cake but eating it is totally different. I'm sure you wouldn't have a problem with that, lol. I live in a region where at least every third fruit tree is a plum tree. So, what do you do with all the plums? Baking cakes and making jam. And those who have a license (only few) distill schnaps.

Z = Zweigart

There is no cross stich shop where I live, even not nearby. But I am lucky enough to live near Zweigart and as I do love stitching on Zweigart fabric - I particularly love their linen fabrics - I drive there every now and then to see what they have. And I always discover some new fabric that I "need" a piece of.

Z = Zweigart give-away

When I was there a while ago I bought a big piece of opalescent aida for a friend but she only needed  a part of it. The rest is big enough for two give-aways.

Both pieces are natural, opalescent aida and measure 15" x 30". I think it' s 14 ct or 16 ct. Maybe quite nice for stitching ornaments or a snow piece. If you want to receive one of the two pieces, just let me know in your comment. If there are more than two takers I will have a drawing. The give-away is open until October 20.

Z = designers or their companies starting with Z that are in my stash

The designer is Cynthia Zittel (The Drawn Thread)
left: 12 Houses Sampler
middle: Lily of the Valley
right: For the Birds

*****************************

That's all. The Alphabet Club was the baby of Chiara of The Grey Tail and Jo of Serendipitous Stitching. Thank you so much, Chiara and Jo, for organizing this event. It was a lot of fun for me to put my letter posts together and find all those things related to the respective letters. The best was browsing through my stash each month and looking for designers with those letters and whose designs called "Stitch me!". And that's what I will do in the months to come. So thank you again to the organizers of this two year long event and to those who read and commented on my Alphabet Club posts.

The End!
